Day 3 of 30 cocktails in 30 Days Challenge: the Wake Me Up espresso cocktail.
Monday. no one likes Monday. It’s the day everyone dreads. but here’s something we’ve found makes the week’s toughest day slip by a little much easier and keep you going at the same time.
We had a cocktail party a few years ago and a friend wanted to keep drinking but was so worn out she could barely keep her eyes open. The cocktail caffeine mix was the best solution, and it’s very tasty too.
How to make a Wake Me Up
Here’s what you need:
For each drink
1 measure of vodka
1 measure of Baileys
1 measure of butterscotch schnapps
A shot of espresso or a double measure of strong coffee
Ice
Cocktail shaker, champagne bowl
Here’s what you do:
Put the ingredients into the shaker
Shake the mix hard
Strain into the glass
Add a couple of ice cubes from the shaker
You can always add a lot more coffee if you need it, though you’ll probably need a lot more sweet flavours to the drink. You can add a lot more butterscotch schnapps. If you don’t want the extra alcohol, you can add a splash of vanilla, butterscotch or caramel syrup, or you can add some basic sugar syrup.
This is a great drink to get your night started or to reinvigorate a night already underway.
